Julia Hill

A new friend came to visit us and enjoy the community and facilities for a few days- Julia Hill, also known as Julia Butterfly. I did not know her claim to fame- which is that she spent two years living in a giant redwood tree in northern California, facing death from many angles to try and save an old growth redwood grove from clearcut. That said, I expected a far-out hippie, but it quickly became clear that Julia is very intelligent and compassionate. We sat and had a group talk for many hours, with little focus on the tree story- more on life, integrity, communication, and she is one of the most inspiring people I have ever met.
