Rose and I rented a car this weekend and camped up on the Haleakala crater, a 10,000 ft. volcanic mountain that towers over us where we live. On saturday we hiked down into the "crater" for about a twelve mile loop through wild colors and cinder cones, completely alone in a massive bowl of dust, pumice, lava rock, and moon plants...
